A fine cast bronze half-bushel measure made for use as a standard in Lord Dacre's Kirkoswald Manor market, and dated 1662, with Lord Dacre's arms; used, (and filled!), as a floor-standing ashtray by the late Bertie Isher in Cheltenham and bought at the dispersal sale there after his death in 1975
Two views of a rare Elizabeth I bronze quart measure brought into my shop in Carlisle in 1974. It was part of one of the sets issued to all the county towns in England in 1601
